Quilting

I made a picture of what my bed cover SHOULD look like when it's ready. The measurements are 245 cm x 245 cm (or 96.457'' x 96.457''). Click the image to get a bigger view.

Now I have to buy fabric! :P

More yarn<3

Today I picked up my new yarn. Oh my gosh. If I just could knit all day long..!

I bought:

  • Novita 7 veljestä x 6
  • Novita Rose Mohair x 6
  • Novita Kid Mohair x 3
  • Novita Huopanen x 1
  • Novita Virkkauslanka x 1
  • Stitch holder x 4
  • Row counter x 1
Could I be any happier :D

I also have some yarn to add to my stash. Because I finished the mittens, the yarn used in them goes back to the stash.

These skeins are from an unravelled work. And the left overs of my GreenGable hoodie. :P

Yarn<3

I have two things to tell.

First, my yarn supplies have arrived. I only have to pick them up at the local post office, and then they're mine! <3 Second thing is that our school arranges one intensive week a year to do a course. This year I managed to get to the handicraft course. I'm going to sew a cover to put on our big bed in future :P I'm going to do it as a patchwork using this block:

I'm using red and different browns for this work. :)

Mittens, FO

I started this project when I discovered that the finnish autumn would be long and chilly. Today I finally finished them, just in time for those little-over-freezing-point temperatures.

Pattern: Inspired by other mittens, improvized

An inventory

I actually made one. This is how much I have yarn.

I should be ashamed, shouldn't I? :P

Well now I'm pissed off!

My dog. ATE. my unfinished mittens.

WHAT IS THIS!

Theren a BIG hole in the MIDDLE. Poor Aili's mittens.

And. Tsahkal-mittens are too small for anyone I know. So, I'll unravel them too.

Poor me.

Hourglass, WIP

I decided to do these Hourglass socks for my Mom for Christmas. Though, I'm using thicker yarn and bigger needles. That's why I only cast on 50 sts instead of 68. I'm also making *k1 tbl, p1* ribbing instead of *k2, p2*.

This pattern seems to look great even if it's made a bit bigger. I only have 5 repeats, but it still looks great :P You can have a peek:

We (me, my two sisters and my Dad) went to a dog show and I went shopping while my sister was showing our dog. I bought these things shown below.

There is...

  • 2 skeins of Novita Rose Mohair
  • 3 skeins of Novita 7 veljestä
  • 2 stitch holders, 8 cm long
  • Circular needles, 80 cm long, size 8 mm
  • 5 pairs of socks
  • Choholate and candy :P
  • Nivea for men products for my dear husband to be (aka DH2B)
  • Hummel jacket and trousers for winter.
Here's a little closer look.

Oh, and I got bored while waiting my sis, so I knitted this wooly hat.

Now I'm sooooo tired but I have to do my homework. Tomorrow it's school again! Boring :(

Painting

Yesterday I finally painted our chest. It used to be turquoise blue and reddish orange. But now...

Tadah!

I'm very pleased with the result! I had to work about 5 hours to make it look like this! :)

Today I've been knitting my mittens, and I'd like to do a chart of it. I actually found one Java program on the Internet, and I like to use it, it's simple enough for me :P Here it is, enjoy. KnitChart.

Magazines...

I subscribe to Suuri Käsityölehti and Novita (though Novita is payed by my future husband). Today, I decided to unsubscribe the Suuri Käsityölehti subscription because it's so expencive. Instead, i subscribed to Moda :D It's cheaper, and, I get a book called Koko perheen neuleet (Knittings for the whole family). Yeah!

Hmm, and, I started a new project (again). I wanted to do hairpin crochet, and I found a beautiful and a simple model from Suuri käsityölehti, 3/2008.

Though, I decided to do it in light green. This yarn is pure wool, so it tickles quite a lot! I'm not sure if I have enough yarn. If not, I'll use white or dark green instead.

Hmmm... What should I do next.. :D

Jussi would like to have socks too. But. I started the bolero... And... I'd like to do hairpin crocheting... I've already done one, remember?

That time of the year again

..Christmas!

Now that I have a soon-husband-to-be, it means that I now have TWO families to knit to. And THAT means that I need more time to do all the handmade gifts. And I also need more yarn. What a delicious pretext to buy yarn!

Today I've been knitting the socks for my Dad. Tomorrow is his birthday, so... :P Luckily I have only about 20 rows left and weaving in.

Yesterday I started Kelly M:s Ribbed Lace Bolero (on 10 feet high or ravelry). Wow!

But now I have to go and make food for my Dad who's hungry and has to go to work in couple of hours :P And after that.. Knitting! <3

I'm using Novita 7 Veljestä and 4mm dpn:s. :)

Selbu Modern, WIP :)

I found this amazing pattern and I just had to start knitting!

Selbu Modern (zeitgeistyarns or ravelry)

Even it has like a million sts per round (okay, 192), it's so fast to knit! It's easy enough not to be frustrated, and challenging enough not to be boring ;)
